When not teaching math to the eighth-grade students at Rains I.S.D., Donna Asbill produces unique, handcrafted dichroic glass and precious metal jewelry. The largely self-taught artist works from a home studio on the small ranch where she lives with her husband (and younger son until he leaves for college this fall), one cat, several dogs, cattle, chickens and Max the Rottweiler. Donna thanks God for her talent as well as the other blessings in her life, especially her family who encouraged her to embrace her creative side. Her most recent venture is an expansion into creating hand-embossed display tiles.
